Majoring in English at Florida Memorial University, Dexter had aspirations to become a lawyer, but after a 13 year stint as a correction officer, his life changed course and he switched to a vocation embedded in his lineage. He began a career in construction, a craft which he attributes to his grandfather and started “Foster the Do it All Handyman” in 1996 as a provider for the Department of Children and Families and the South Florida Aids Network. The company provided environmental services to the habitats and surroundings of the disabled.

After a few years of performing reliable and quality construction services, business flourished and, “Foster Construction of South Florida, Inc. was formed.

Dexter had a passion for his community as well. The company utilized a government grant to improve forty homes of local senior residents, making their homes barrier free/ADA accessible, but at no cost. An industrious visionary, Dexter Foster, a first generation pioneer in the construction industry, aspired to continue on his path of success.

But on January 7, 2012 Dexter’s journey ended.  The baton was then passed on to his wife, Adrian Foster and their three sons Dexter Foster II, Darius Foster, and Dylan Foster. Adrian worked alongside Dexter for 11 of the company’s 14 year history. Now in her role as President  & CEO plans to take the company to new heights while maintaining and developing the company’s current client base and relationships.
